A few weeks ago it was my birthday and I was lucky enough to receive this gorgeous blush off my mum as a present. Now normally i'm not a blush kind of girl I am really lazy when it comes to blush and I normally just miss it out all together. So the main reason this appealed to me was the packaging (sorry not sorry) and because I hadn't really heard of Nicka K New York before so wanted to try out their makeup. I'll admit i'm glad the reasons got me to ask for it because I love this blush.
So I first saw this when I was browsing beauty crowd and thought oh my god that packaging is so pretty. I really love the copper/rose gold lid that it's got going on and having a mirror is an added bonus. I also love the fact you can see how much powder blush you have got left at the bottom.

As for the application it comes with a little sponge and you can pat the product onto the skin until the blush comes through the sponge. However if you aren't fan of the sponge you can just twist the lid off and apply the blush using a brush. Saying that i'm a fan of sponge it comes with it applies just the right amount of product to the skin and can be built up if you want a more dramatic look. Also it's not harsh sponge it is still soft enough.

Now a bit about the shade... I currently own the one shade and it's in mauve rose which is like a pale dusky pink, but the do also have five other shades (all of which I want to buy in the future). In the top  picture above is what the shade looks like on me when only applying a few light dabs to the cheek. I found that it gives a nice natural flushed look. The picture below it shows how you can build up the shade to give a bit more of a dramatic colour the cheek.

All in all the Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush is a winner in my eyes and another great thing about it is that it's affordable at £6.95. I definitely can wait to buy more.
Let me know what you think...

see you soon, han xo
ps: i'm thinking of doing a post on this going out look in the future, i'd love to know whether you would like to see that.

  4. This is such a cool product, I've never heard of it! I'm not a fan of the sponge thing because I have super sensitive skin so I like that you can just use a brush too :)
