May Faves

So it's that time of the month again when I share with you a couple of my favourite things throughout the month of May! I haven't really loved a product that I wanted to use it daily (a part from a couple of exceptions) mainly because I got so many new things this month so I was too busy trying things out, but that just means hopefully Junes will be better (hopefully).

So the first thing that I actually loved throughout May was Bleach London Silver Shampoo. This has been a saviour to me this month! I got my hair done at the end of April and was facing that yellow crisis. So after a couple of uses of this, it really did tone my hair down. It went from a blonde yellow to more of an ash blonde which I was after. Would definitely recommend this silver shampoo.

Secondly I re-fell in love with my Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I went through a phase at the end of April where I couldn't be bothered to do my lashes! But then when I just used this on odd occasion I remembered why I love it. It really curls my lashes whilst still lengthening them. Definitely one of my favourite drugstore mascaras!

Next up is again a product I fell back love with throughout may which is the L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte foundation. I love that I can just put this foundation on and feel ready to leave the house. It gives me enough coverage without feeling like i'm wearing loads of makeup.

The next couple of things aren't beauty related but again I loved throughout may. The first is Peppermint Tea. My friend mentioned that she had started drinking this at the beginning of May, so I was like I want to try. Ever since I've been addicted to it! I was surprised that I actually liked it because I thought it would be extremely minty but it's not actually bad. Another great thing is that you can get it from Lidl for either 79 or 89p for 40 bags.

Another non-beauty love is bras from Primark. I have found myself loving their bras this month since  I mentioned it in a haul post here. I've bought another 4 including this new white one in the picture. Also I love their sports bra's too they are so comfy and affordable.

The last thing I want to mention is an app. This month me and my friend began running/jogging and we've been using the couch to 5k app and its been so great. It basically gives you a different run to complete each week so that you'd be able to complete 5k once you've done it. We're now coming up to week 5 and we're still going strong. Honestly it felt so hard to begin with but once you complete a run it feels great. Definitely recommend if you want to start running/jogging but haven't done anything beforehand.

So thats what i've been loving throughout May, I would love to know what you have been loving.

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit

Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit Review on http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk
Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit Review on http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk

Hey guys!
So it's been awhile since I have done a post so apologies for that.. it's been assessment period at university so I had get things done for that, but now i'm officially finished for summer although it's kind of scary as I only have one year left to go now. Anyhow, moving away from the ramble about where I've been.. Today I thought I would share with you one of the things I got from my birthday which is this gorgeous brow kit from Milani.

I was browsing on the beauty crowd website when I instantly spotted this brow kit and thought wow that looks such a cute kit, I wanna try. So I was really happy to receive it as a birthday gift from my mum and was dying to try it out. It actually took me like a week or so to actually get round to trying it out mainly because I wanted to get decent pictures of it looking nice before I ruined it. As well as using up the rest of one of my ELF brow kit which I love, love love and was really gutted when I heard about ELF and not distributing to the UK anymore.

Moving back onto the Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit. The major thing that drew me into wanting this was how it was packaged. I love the fact that it stores the tweezers, angled brush and sponge applicator in like a little compartment which moves up and down so you can use the mirror underneath. I thought it was such a good idea as in other brow kits the little applicators are always falling out. So I thought this would be great for travelling also as it's not bulky and really handy.

MAC Ravishing Lipstick

MAC Ravishing Lipstick Swatches/Review
MAC Ravishing Lipstick Review & Swatches on http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/

Hey guys!
It feels like it's been forever since i've done a post but I have been super busy with university assessments and birthdays so haven't got round to typing up a post for you. Anyhow as you can guess today i'm doing a mac lipstick post again.. (slowly getting to the end of these).

So onto mac ravishing... It's described as a 'clean light peachy coral'. It's definitely a coral but with my skin tone it's more on the orange side. From swatches I did expect it to be a bit lighter maybe I got a dodgy one or this is the genuine colour on my skin tone.  It's a shade that I have to feel brave wearing and for me it's definitely a summer shade but saying that i'm excited to wear it more. It's a cremesheen finish which is definitely my favourite. It's nice and creamy in texture giving great pigmentation, (not drying on the lips at all). I've found it to last about 3 hours a minimum but that's when i've not been using my mouth.

Overall... I don't think I would repurchase this again but it is a nice shade to own in my collection..
What's your favourite shade of lipstick?

see you soon, han xo
ps: I was thinking of doing what I got for my birthday which is tomorrow, I was wondering whether this is something you would like to see, so i'd love to know in the comments.

Benefit Blushers

Today I thought I would show you guys this 'cheeky sweet spot' palette by benefit (box of blushers). Although this was given to me as a christmas present I thought it was still relevant to show you guys, as each blush/bronzer is available to by all year round. oh and a heads up there are a lot of posed pictures..

Dandelion is a lovely light pink blush with a hint of shimmer. Benefit say that it's mean't to be used as a brightening face powder, but for I definitely prefer it as a blush. It gives a very nice pale flushed look on my skin tone, which would be perfect for a hardly any makeup look/natural look. Another thing about this is that it smells good, slightly floral hint to it. This scent doesn't last long though once the powder is on your skin. (ps the shade is lighter than the swatch picture on the left).

bella bamba

Now i'm not to sure where you can find this blush. I have read that it is has been discounted and it definitely isn't stocked on the UK website. Bella Bamba is a bright/watermelon pink shade with gold shimmer. Now i'm not to sure if I like this shade. It does have great pigmentation and a nice scent again. Maybe if I toned it down a bit this might grow on me. Definitely one for summer I would say.

Sugar Bomb has 4 different triangles all of which have their own shade, one is a peach shade, two are pinks and a muted lilac. I like them all blended together creating a subtle peachy pink shade with a nice fine shimmer. It's not as pigmented as it looks from the swatch (I built the swatch up to show the colour). It is very sheer so great for lighter toned skin.

Hoola is a lovely matte brown bronzer. Now on me it is fairly dark and very scary before it is blended out. It's still a bit too dark for me to wear as an everyday bronzer. I would definitely stick to my body shop one. However this is great for contouring and sculpting the face. I love using this on a night out to make my cheekbone pop more.

Coralista is a lovely coral. It's the definite in-between of a pink and orange blush. It has a gorgeous gold shimmer running through it and I definitely think i'll be wearing this one when I've got more of a tan. The scent of this one differs as it smells a bit more fruity I would say.. Definitely happy with this one.

rockateur
Onto my favourite of them all rockateur it's a muted dusty rose shade. In this palette it hasn't got the shimmer effect as it does in the box version which I don't mind as it's still a very pretty shade.

Also in this set came a small sample size of watt's up which is a lovely cream highlighter and one of their box brushes that you get in the box. I hope they bring this out again at christmas as I think it's definitely worth getting and a cheaper alternative to all of their boxes.

What's your favourite shade or blush in general?

see you soon, han xo

MAC Angel

It's been awhile since i've done one of my mac lipstick posts.. so I thought it was about time I got round to posting one. Today I have MAC Angel and yeah it's been slightly battered oops!

Angel is described as a soft pink and this I agree with. It's a frost finish so it also has a silver shimmer to it but doesn't appear to be overly shimmery on the lips. It goes on a bit sheer but can builds up nicely in colour. It's a super wearable shade and I think it would flatter many skin tones. When you apply it onto the lips it's very creamy and feels kind of glossy in texture minus the stickiness. It's not very long lasting though on the lips, lasting about 2 hours on the lips much less if you are using your lips a lot e.g. drinking. However saying that I am a fan of this one and would definitely buy it again.

What do you think of this shade? What's your favourite mac lipstick? or any lipstick saying that...

see you soon, han xo

Boo tea Review

Hey guys, so I have recently tried to new craze 'BooTea' and I have got to say this is definitely worth purchasing!

Advantages
  1. It actually works! I have lost 8 pound all together. It also makes you feel more toned and in shape. I did work out when I was using this, but I didn't change my diet.
  2. The tea is drinkable. I wouldn't say it is the best tasting tea but it is also not the worst. the Day one reminded me of green tea which isn't too much of a bad taste.
  3. I felt like I had more energy,
  4. The day time tea made me feel a lot more fuller for longer. I am not sure if it is meant to but I used to drink this in a morning with my breakfast and I used to be very surprised that I didn't get hungry until the late afternoon.
  5. I am not as bloated as I used to be. before I started this detox I constantly felt really bloated. but after a couple of days of drinking the tea, I noticed I wasn't feeling as bloated as I normally do.
  6. You don't have to diet to loose weight! which is the biggest advantages ever in my opinion!. however you would probably loose a lot more if you did diet.
  7. It doesn't matter if you forget to drink your tea in the morning, you can still drink the day time tea at any point in the day and it still works.
Disadvantages

  1. Like a lot have people have said, you do get a side effect after drinking the night-time detox. you do got to the toilet more then you normally would. however! I was really nervous because I thought you would be on the toilet all day. But for me It wasn't so bad, you normally just go in the morning and that is it.
  2. I found drinking the night time tea annoying to keep up with, because I would get comfy in bed and suddenly realize I have forgotten to drink my tea, but its not so bad because you just drink it every other night. ( I am just lazy! )
So as you can see there is a lot more advantages then disadvantages for this product! I have tried a lot of the diet crazes and most of them don't work, but I can assure you that this actually does and I will definitely be trying some more of their products out.

Let me know what you guys think if you have tried this, See you soon, Em xo

April faves

Hey guys!
So I realised that I haven't done an actually monthly favourites post since like my november edition.. so that's a pretty long time. So today I thought I would share with you all the things I have been loving in April..

1. Water - Ok so this is a pretty random one to include but like 85% of my fluid intake in April was either water (plain or flavoured) or was squash (containing water). It even got to days where I just fancied water which for me is pretty odd. I also found that when I went out for meals I didn't really enjoy drinking a fizzy drink. Another great thing I noticed was that my skin was looking better in April.

2. Makeup Brushes - There has been two brushes that I have been loving this month both of which I've ordered from sets on Amazon. The first being from a set that I've already reviewed (here) and mainly the been loving the powder brush. I think i've been loving this brush so much because it picks up the product so well.. that's all. The second is again from an Amazon cheap brush set which I'm still yet to review and it's the mascara wand brush. Now this is quite odd and this wouldn't of been in my favourites hadn't my eyelashes been playing up when putting mascara on. For a definite good week or so my mascara was just not going right, so I found this helpful to get my lashes to separate.

3. Lipstick - This month I have been drifting away from my MAC lipsticks and found myself using the ELF Lipsticks and especially nostalgic and fantasy but i'm not going to ramble on about these, if you want to know more i've reviewed them here.

4. Skin Care - This month I have been slacking with my skincare. I really want to get into a proper routine but it's definitely been hard since I've been getting back from the uni library pretty late and I don't want to do a proper routine, I just want to sleep.  I'm still debating whether I prefer the camomile cleansing balm or the cleansing oil, but this has been handy for when I've been away and is great at taking off your makeup.

5. Samples - Now this has definitely been my favourite thing this month. I have loved either receiving a sample or using it. I have been loving the Nina - Nina Ricci perfume sample. This has been so handy for when i've been away (twice during april). It's just so easy to pack and the smell is just delicious. I love it. The second sample I've been loving is Roller Lash by Benefit no other reason other than it's a good mascara. The third is the Burberry kisses lipstick sample and the main reason being is that it is super cute as it's a baby lipstick (well done Burberry for the sample packaging). Another couple of reasons I have loved this is due to the shade (nude beige) and it's so handy to throw into my uni bag.

6. Hair care - I have two items here: the first the wet brush and the herbal essences shampoo and conditioner. I just feel like I have used the wet brush a lot since I got it. I don't know if this is because i've lost my new tangle teezer which i'm really unhappy about, or because i've generally been brushing my hair more. Anyhow I have found this to have better benefits like using it with a hair dryer and not so like aggressive as a tangle teezer, if that makes sense.  Now normally I don't really think about my shampoo and conditioner being really good but I since using the herbal essences bee strong shampoo and conditioner my hair has just been healthier, stronger, feels soft not brittle even days after and less greasy. So it's a winner for me although i'm not a major fan of the honey scent.

7. Eyes - Well I seem to have been obsessed with using my mac paint pot in painterly. It is such a nice base colour and really makes my eye lid smoother. & for me being lazy with silly steps like this to normally include I find that i'm doing it pretty much every time I do my makeup.

8. Others - A few other things i've been loving is walks. I'm really lazy so for me to love walks is a bit like huh, are you alright? but yeah i've got my friends to come on walks with me and it's just been a nice way to catch up without just sitting around gaining calories. The next thing is James Bay let it go and best fake smile songs. I constantly have these in my head. Lastly is Stalker (TV Show) i'm just into this thriller crime show, basically any crime show - NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, The blacklist and loads more. Oh and anything copper!

That's it for this monthly favourites. Seems like a lengthy one.

Let me know what you were loving in April...
