Seventeen Shimmer Bricks

Recently I bought the seventeen shimmer bricks mainly because they are really pretty and a much more cheaper alternative to getting the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick. So today I thought I would share with you guys my opinions on this pretty little things..

So I picked up these both of these seventeen shimmer bricks recently when Boots were running their 3 for 2 across all makeup products (£4.99 each). This was perfect for me as I couldn't decide what shade I preferred as they are both so gorgeous... so I had to get them both! (definitely would of bought more if they had others too)

Anyhow the first one is the shade Gold Bronze (top pic/left pic). The four shades are: a pearly shade (highlighter), a paler gold shade (which is gorgeous shade if worn alone as an eyeshadow), deeper gold and then a bronze. All together they create a gorgeous bronzed look. I would say that when I swept this only my cheeks for the first time I was so shocked about how bronzed I was. It is definitely a shade that will need blending or just a little sweep if you have a paler skin tone. Saying that it is really nice on. I love that you can see the shimmer from the lighter shades when this is applied. It makes it look like you've used a highlighter as well, so definitely a nice quick and easy product.

Now onto Pink Bronze... which is definitely my favourite! This one is like the all in one highlighter, blush and bronze and is created by one single step.. making it the perfect for me as I'm really lazy. This one has a lovely pale pink which words as a perfect highlighter, two pinky toned shades for the blush and a medium brown to create the bronze look.

These are packaged really well in a sturdy matte black plastic although prone to getting a bit messy. I also like the fact you can see the shades straight away. Another great thing is that you don't just have to use these on the cheeks. These a great as eyeshadows as well. I did recently use the gold bronze one for this purposes because silly me forgot to pack an eyeshadow palette when I went away. So handy for creating a pretty eye look too.

I personally love these and definitely happy I picked them up... Seventeen have created a winner product again in my eyes! (I love their cc cream also). These have definitely made me want to expand my shimmer brick collection and have  definitely got me debating whether or not to ask for a Bobbi Brown one for my birthday.
If you know of any other brands that do these I would love to know..

ps: boots are currently running an offer on seventeen products buy one get the a second product half price.

ELF Lipsticks

First thing's first these smell so good! They remind me of the tutti frutti / hubba bubba scent.. so sweet. Secondly these are so creamy and lovely to apply! Thirdly they are greatly priced... sadly ELF have stopped distributing to the UK.  Basically at least three great things about these ELF lipsticks!

1. Nostalgic (far left)
Is definitely my favourite of them all. It's a lovely pink nude on my lips, so gorgeous for everyday wear.

2. Fantasy
When I first received this shade I was like nah this isn't going to work on my skin tone. I was so wrong this is gorgeous, it's a lovely brown shade and I find it so much easier to wear than velvet teddy by mac. Winner!

3. Flirtatious
Hello summer shade! This is a beautiful pink coral shade. I don't think I really own a shade like this maybe mac flamingo? but this one is definitely brighter. It's definitely a nice shade to own.

4. Classy
This is a fun colour (I would of personally swapped the names for this and fantasy around)., It's like a bubblegum pink. I honestly have no clue when I'm going to wear this shade.. but i'll make it work, got any ideas?

5. Fearless (far right)
Fearless is something I am not when I wear this shade. This is definitely way out of my comfort zone.  It's a bright red with like a dark pink tone to it.. it's just so bright and I tend to stay away from reds. Sadly i'm not a fan.

A little bummer about these lipsticks is that they snap very easily and sometimes I find the bit to twist them out, can be a bit stiff.. but thats only on the odd one. Overall these lipsticks are a massive win for me! The have great pigmentation, creamy and last for a couple of hours, what more could you want? prettier packaging?

Let me know what you think of these, what one is your favourite?...

see you soon, han xo

O.P.I nail lacquer review

Hey guys, so today I wanted to share with you my favourite colours from the brand O.P.I.  I am very picky with my nail varnishes. some days I love a neutral shade and some days I love a vibrant shade, so when I found a two pack of these colours I instantly fell in love.
I have never tired O. P. I before but I had heard so many great reviews I just had to try them.  I am so pleased with these products. they are overall a really great brand, they offer quality and everything you want in a nail varnish.

to start off, the colours are amazing! they are really shiny and just look great on your nail no matter what colour. and second they actually last a long time! I don't know about you, but I have got countless amounts of nail varnish and there is only like a couple which actually stand the test of time!
O.P.I are great for offering the must haves you need in a nail product; they don't chip and they dry really quickly and the colour lasts! what more would you want.

Let me know what you think guys.  I am definitely going to get more colours in this brand I love them.

See you soon, Em xo

Everyday Look #1

makeup revolution flawless palette, stay matte, elf, urban decay, seventeen shimmer brick
MAC paint pot, elf brow kit, benefit porefsessional, elf lipstick, seventeen shimmer brick
Today I thought I would do a post slightly different post to my norm.. mainly because I don't normally have a post with so many like self/close up pictures unless i'm doing a swatch post. Anyhow, today I thought I would share with you one of my current go to everyday look.

All about that base: To begin with I start benefit porefessional primer. Now I don't normally bother with a primer mainly due to sheer laziness, but since reading sophie's post on primers I decided that it was time I should. I just squeeze out a little bit of this out and put it all over my face to give me a lovely smooth start. After that I apply collection's long lasting concealer on any spots or red areas (which I totally forgot to include in the picture). After doing that I apply my foundation which has currently been the estee lauder double wear foundation mainly because I've been neglecting it for so long,  I thought it was about time it got more use.  ps I plan to get a proper review on this done soon. Once that's all done I use my seventeen shimmer brick in pink bronze all over my cheeks. It gives that bronze, blushed and highlighted look all in one which I great when i'm either being lazy or in a rush. Oh and then I go over with my stay matte powder just to tone down any over blushing etc and to make the look last longer.

Now onto the eyes and the brows: Basically my love affair with the elf brow kit in light may have to die now that elf isn't distributing in the UK. I use the gel for where I think my brow needs to look a bit thicker or defined (basically give my eyebrow shape) and use the shadow for filling in my brows. Now that my eye brows are done I have just been using my mac paint pot in painterly (review on these here) all over the lid for a base colour or when I really can't be bothered I'll just use this and no eyeshadow. Then for proper eyeshadow I use my makeup revolution flawless palette, and the shade almost there in like the outer part of my lid crease and then blend it out. Sometimes I'll use smudge as well in the crease to give a more dramatic effect. Once i'm bored of doing eyeshadow I like to add some eyeliner to my top lash liner only from the outer corner to the middle to make my lashes look a bit fuller. Recently i've been using a lord and berry pencil mainly because I got this in the march look fantastic box, but this stage is completely hit and miss. Lastly for my eyes I just apply my perversion mascara by urban decay.. I've done a review on this so not going to bore you about it.

Lastly the lips: Basically I'm so thankful for miss ray fancy for doing such a lovely giveaway and bringing this lipstick to my attention. It's the elf lipstick in the shade nostalgic, which is a lovely everyday nude and will be reviewed properly along with a few others in the future.

That's it for this everyday look, please let me know what you think and whether you would like to see more posts like this in the future, possibly an night out look next time? Also hope you don't mind how I did the pictures just wanted to show the look from different angles and different parts..

So the other day I did a post mentioning that I bought this palette and i've been completely obsessed with it ever since... it's the Makeup Revolution Flawless 32 eyeshadow palette. It has so many pretty shades perfect for creating night looks or day looks, matte looks or shimmered looks and all for £8 which I think is a great bargain!

Mini Makeup revolution haul

Hey guys, so the other day I went to superdrug and I got a couple of things from Makeup Revolution. Han first told me about this brand a while ago and I have been meaning to try some of their products. what drew me most to these products is first the price! all of their products rarely exceed ten pounds. and second the quality. the products I purchased are of a really high standard.., I have could compare the conceleor to Benefit Bo-ing and the eyebrow palette to their brow zing. I would actually say the brow palette is better then benefits are their is more features.

When I saw these I had to get them immediately! I have been wanting to try and do more contouring so I thought the concelour pallete would be great due to the variety of different shades. And of course the brow palette was like a dream for me! I love doing my eyebrows so I was the most excited to try this products out.

I got the highlighter for free because Superdrug are doing 3 for 2 on all make-up and I also received a free make-up bag which is great.

The brow palette is called the Ultra Brow Palette it is £7.99. I got it in the shade fair to medium. I wouldn't go for the black option unless you prefer a extra dark brow. I do like mine to be dark but the black was far to dark for me. I am so impressed with this product! my eyebrows look so much better. I find they are much more easier to define and shape with this product because of the different features it holds. For instance I use the dark tint to give colour and to keep them in place. I then use the pencil to shape my brows i.e define the arch and then I use the colour to fill them in. I think using this technique really gives a professional look and it lasts all day.

The conceolour palette is called the ultra cover and conceal palette. It is just £6.00 which is just a bargain for what you get.  If you want it to cover up spots and for dark circles ect. it is great because it has full coverage. I normally use this on my fierce spots before foundation and if there is still a glimpse I use a bit more and it definitely covers them up. It lasts all day as well which is a plus.  But I also use this product for contouring and It is amazing! I cant praise this product enough. I would definitely recommend.

And finally the highlighter;baked bronzer in the shade Golden days. It is just £4.00. This is great product for the price. It leaves you with a nice golden glow. I use it as a highlighter on my cheekbones.

I want to try more Makeup Revolution products because I am ultra impressed so far. Let me know what you think to this brand?

See you soon, Em xo

A few girly things from Primark (April)

So if you read my latest post I was 'supposedly' meant to be on a shopping ban and well yeah that didn't last very long (2 days?). My friend was like I need to go to Primark please come with me. So as a good friend I was like sure and me being me, I had to buy something.

So firstly I picked up a pair of sunglasses, as it's finally getting sunny here in the UK. I really wanted a pair of black sunglasses and my Topshop ones are browny colour and I feel like I can't match them with as much as I would like... even though sunglasses don't need to match outfits. Anyhow I picked up these black and metal framed ones for £2 and I love them. The glass is slightly purple tinted and isn't like huge so they don't look to big for my head. Another great thing is that Primark sunglasses also come with a little pouch to store them in too. Very happy with these.

Now secondly I bought some bra's. Now I wouldn't normally mention underwear in a post but I just felt like I should. The main reason I felt like I should was because my local Primark had pretty bra's in my size (D-F) and I find it so hard to find a pretty bra without paying loads of money. So I thought it might be helpful for someone who experiences the same problem as me to know about primarks current bras.

So the first one I picked up (left) was £5 and it is my favourite. It has gorgeous navy lace over a blush shade padding? with cute little blush bows. I love these colours together so made it my mission when I was in store to find one in my size. I also really like that this bra has the lace detail underneath the wiring, reminds me of a very short bralet. Onto the second this one is £4 just like white and grey striped polyester material with grey lace and a pink bow. The finally two are the same but different shades and were £6 each. The first is purple like silk/polyester material with pink lace, and the second is exactly the same style but with cream material and blue lace. Both have little bow details with a little gem on which I will be removing just because i'm not really a fan...

So that's everything I got this time. I will definitely be checking out primark again for more bra's as I know these probably won't last as long as a decent expensive bra. Plus I want to see if there are anymore similar to the first one I mentioned. Hope you guys didn't mind finding out about my bra's. I haven't worn them yet or anything. I honestly just wanted to show what pretty bras primark have in. It would of been a few tops but I felt my arms were really flabby today so didn't end up buying any...

Let me know if you have any tips for losing weight around the arms or any links to any recent haul posts you've done...

see you soon, han xo

Recent Makeup Buys April 2015

Lately I've been doing a bit of spending/treating myself, which basically means I've extended my makeup collection on makeup that I definitely didn't need...oh well. So after visiting The Cosmetic Company, Boots, Superdrug & Poundland this is what I ended up with.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara

http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/maybelline-lash-sensational-lash.html
http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/maybelline-lash-sensational-lash.html

A mascara is definitely a makeup product that I can't live without, so I really love testing out new mascaras... as you can probably tell by the increasing number of mascara reviews going up on the blog. Anyhow, I thought it was about time for me to pick up this one by Maybelline. I have seen so many blog posts featuring this mascara and read so many good things about it, I knew it was definitely one that I wanted to get my hands on.

The Lash Sensational mascara has gorgeous packaging and that definitely sold it to me. I love the metallic pink packaging, it's definitely a prettier colour and different from other mascaras out there! The brush that this mascara has is also great. It's a curved brush with little bristles great at getting all the lashes, however I have found that due to the formula of the mascara being quite wet, can get quite clumpy in the brush I have found. Also due to the formula being a bit wetter I find when I apply it, I have to be careful of like blinking straight away or moving my eyes  for a couple of minutes until it dries as it can leave little mascara dots on my eyes, and they are quite hard to budge.

Other than the formula being a little wet, I find this mascara so easy to use to create lashes that i'm happy with and love. The mascara is really black and makes eyelashes pop straight away, a bit similar to the Roller Lash by Benefit. It also is great at making them look fuller and curled without any curlers.. I find anyway. However, you do have to be careful with making sure lashes don't clump together when applying, I think this will not be a problem once the mascara is a little bit drier. Another great thing about this mascara is that I find that it lasts ages on while still holding the shape (if that makes sense) and I don't find it to be flakey.

This mascara is definitely one that I would recommend to anyone. It doesn't hurt the bank account as much as one from Benefit would, costing £7.99 from both Boots and Superdrug. But can is also be found on Fragrance Direct for only £4.75 and is definitely worth buying in my eyes.

Let me know what your favourite mascara is, so that I have an idea for what I should purchase next time..

see you soon, han xo

Makeup Tutorial- Night out Makeup

Hey guys, so I recently went on a night out for the bank holiday. I wanted to share with you how to re-create this makeup look because I think its super nice and really easy to do :) Hope you like it!

1, First, I used my No.7 Primer which is Airbrush Away Primer. I put this all over my face and then use the Benefit pore fessional on the t-zone areas. ( I like to use both on a night out so my makeup lasts longer)

2, I then put concealer under my eyes and on some spots if I have any. I use the Rimmel Wake me Up concealer

3. Then its time for foundation. I use the Nars Sheer Matte foundation.

4. I then go again with some more concealer to go over some angry spots!. I have recently been using the Benefit boi-ing ( I never used to like this but I find it works much better when used with fingers) I then bring it all together with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder

5. I have been wanting to contour for quite a while so I thought I would try it. I bought the Seventeen Define and Conquers contour kit and I used this with the Seventeen instant glow to define it more and Rimmel sun shimmer for a highlighting effect. I finish the look off with my Estee Lauder blusher in the colour pink kiss.

6. now the face is done. I move on to my eyebrows just for a second. I use the Rimmel brow this way to set my eye brows in place. I leave it to dry and then move on to my eyes...

7. For my eyeshadow I used the Urban decay naked palette 1. I started with the colour sin and placed this all over my lid. I then went in with the shade buck using a wind screen washer motion in the crease.. to define this more I used the colour hustle using the same motion. And then I used the shade creep to darken my crease and I finished the look off by refreshing the colour sin on the top of my lid.

My eyeliner was on both the top and bottom of my eye. I used my Estee lauder eyeliner Kajal intense pencil for the bottom and and maybelline gel eyeliner for the top.

For my lashes I used  Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and individual lashes ( these are so hard to put on! It look me about an hour. so give yourself plenty of time if your not used to using them)

8. For my brows I used No.7 Amazing eyes pencil in brown so darken then. Then I used my barry M Brow pallete to define them.

9. And finally the lips! which is my favourite part. I used the Maybelline colour drama pencil in the colour, berry much. I started by using it as a lip liner and then I filled it in. while I was out I used a similar colour lipgloss so I didn't have be so careful when reapplying.

Hope you liked this post. Let me know what you think to this look :)

See you soon, Em x

Guest Post - Remi Mayer: Accesorize the Summer

As the spring sun is heating us up for the summer to come, the natural question innate to every girl out there is: “What to wear?” We all know that summer is the best time of year to flaunt with our outfits and our bodies as well. The great thing about summer is that you can wear just about anything, if you accessorize it right. Accessories can make or break every outfit, so you should choose them even more carefully than you choose your clothes. Get ready for some summer must haves.

The ultimate summer accessory

Unless you have some super power to stare at the flaming sun, you’ll have to get yourself a pair or two pairs of sunglasses. This accessory carries the title “ultimate” because it’s not only fashionable and trendy, but also very functional, providing your eyes the necessary protection from the sun. This summer will be all about colors, when it comes to sunglasses. A mixture of different colors and shapes will catch everyone’s attention, and don’t forget to get yourself a few pairs of those mirrored glasses. Super cool!

Our day at the beach

Flying dog!
Hey guys!
The other day, when it was actually nice and bright for once, we decided to take a little road trip to a local beach: for a nice catch up and a dog walk for George. It was even warm enough for em to take off her coat, which is shocking for England at the moment with the wind at the moment. It was a super cute and different thing for us to do rather than going window shopping. Plus it had another benefit.. easy exercise! Hopefully next time we go it will be much warmer and we'll get a nice ice cream or fish & chips..

Do you ever go on random day trips? & What do you do where you are?

See you soon, em and han xo

Maybelline Colorsensational Elixir Lipgoss

Hey guys, so the other day I went on a huge shopping haul and I found these little beauties! As I have said before, I have been wanting some lipglosses for a while now, so when I spotted these, I thought hey why not give them a try.

What I love most about these is that it is not a sticky texture, It goes on really smooth and you cant really feel it on which is a plus for me.

The first is in the colour;  120 fuchsia flouris. I really like this colour, it is more of a night time shade. However I have worn this in the day once, with an all black outfit. These look great on and are really easy to apply. They are like a liquid lipstick/lip-gloss, so they are really pigmented and the colour lasts literally all day. I would like to wear this on a night out because I think it would be a lot easier to apply when you have had a few drinks.

The second shade is; 705 blush essence. This is more of a neutral pinky colour. It looks really nice on and its so easy to put on. I am also loving how shiny they are.

I definitely would recommend these! they have a range of colours and are £6.00 each however there is an offer in boots; buy one get one half price. check it out Here

Let me know what you think guys..

See you soon, Em x

MAC Fleshpot Lipstick

MAC Fleshpot Lipstick Review and Swatches

MAC Fleshpot Lipstick Swatches
This is new to my collection and I have been obsessed with it ever since I purchased it. I bought it slightly cheaper from the York Designer Outlet a few weeks ago now, so don't know if this shade will still be stocked, however i'm sure there would be others.

Fleshpot is a lovely pinky nude and I love it for everyday wear, although I think you have to be careful when buying this shade as it could look like foundation/concealer lips. It's a satin finish which  gives a similar finish to a matte shade but less drying and has a slight sheen. I find this to last at least 4 hours on my lips before needing a retouch although each day varies depending on what i'm doing.

What do you think of this shade? What shades are your favourite?

WEDNESDAY WAMO: WIN A £50 VOUCHER FOR HOUSE OF FRASER

http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/

Today's favourite WAMO challenge of the week is hands down the  £50 voucher for House of Fraser. This prize allows it to be spent on such a large range of things such as beauty, homeware or clothing, so it's great for anyone! Here's a few thing's we would be considering spending it on...

em's picks:
1.Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation -£36.50
I have watched a lot of Tanya Burr youtube videos lately and she has talked a lot about this Giorgio Armani foundation, and ever since I have wanted to try it out. So would definitely love to try this.

2.Benefit Gimme Brow Gel- £17.50
I have been wanting to try this for ages! I think Benefit do really good eyebrow products, so I am sure this wouldn't disappoint.

3.Urban Decay Naked Lip Gloss- £14.50
I have been wanting to buy some more lip glosses as I only ever seem to wear lipstick. I don't know why but I think these lip glosses are really cute, so I would possibly pick one of these out.

4.Lipsy Cap sleev puff pattern bodycon dress- £42.00
I thought I would finish with a beautiful dress. As you all should know by now, I love lipsy especially their bodycon dresses... I think this one is gorgeous! It is such a pretty colour and would look great for Spring. Also the pattern would be very flattering for your figure.

han's picks:
I went for all beauty things because I would definitely use this voucher to extend my makeup collection and buy something that I wouldn't usually treat myself to due to cost, here's what I picked..

I have wanted a shimmer brick for so long that this would definitely be something that I would think about getting, although it would take me ages to decide what shade. I think I like the look of Pink Quartz most.

Mascaras are a most for me! So this would definitely be on my maybe list, especially since I have recently tried out the sample and loved it (find out more here).

I have heard a lot of good things about this recently and i've never tried a mascara primer so would be really interested in seeing if it affected my eyelashes!

My possible purchases wouldn't be complete if I didn't consider getting a lipstick. Tom Ford lipsticks are sadly out of my price range so would definitely think about using the voucher to buy one although it would take me days to decide what shade I would want, either spanish pink or nude vanilla at the moment.

This challenge will be running tomorrow (2nd of April) so be sure to check it out! Other prizes this week include: an item from misguided £50 or under (3rd of april), a soft rose goddess collection set from mememe (4th of april), win a pair of shoes worth £100 or under from ALDO (5th of April) and many others..
Let us know what you would buy if you won the voucher...
