MAC Please Me Lipstick

MAC Please Me Lipstick

MAC Please Me.. doesn't really please me (yet). Ok this shade isn't a complete let down but it doesn't cause me to fall in love with it or want to reach out for it.

Please Me is rosy pink shade which I think looks just ok with my skin tone. Whereas I've seen it on other people and thought wow it's gorgeous with their skin tone. It is a matte finish which means it lasts ages a good 5/6 hours. I don't really find this shade too drying on my lips either, considering it's a matte finish.

What do you guys think of this? Have you tried it? Would you try it?

see you soon, han
ps: after writing my opinion based on the pictures of me wearing it.. I have kind of changed my opinion the tiniest bit and grown to like it a bit more. Maybe with the right makeup i'll begin to love it.
ps ps: missed the previous mac post? no worries find out more about MAC Peach Blossom

NAKED ONE OR TWO, WHAT'S FOR YOU?

Me and em have already put up a post about these up, awhile back - here. So I am trying to keep today's post about these palettes very short (hopefully). I wanted to do a post mainly about swatches to hopefully help you guys decide which palette you would prefer to buy, so hope you enjoy it...

MUA Whipped Velvet Lips

I am such a fan of MUA products so I was super excited to pick up the Whipped Velvet Lips. I don't really know how to describe these as they aren't a lip gloss as they don't give a glossy finish but coverage is similar to a gloss (in my opinion) maybe like a semi finish velvet lip lacquer.

MAC Peach Blossom Lipstick

MAC Peach Blossom Lipstick Review/Swatch
MAC Peach Blossom Lipstick Swatch

Yet again another MAC Lipstick post. Today I welcome you to Peach Blossom...

This shade is described as a frosted cool nude but I don't think I agree. On me it's my lip shade but better. So on me it gives my lips a little added pink and a nice shine. The finish of this shade is a cremesheen (my personal favourite). It glides on the lips and gives a nice sheer coverage which can be built up along with a tad shine. I find that it this lipstick lasts a few hours, around 3/4 hours.

Overall this is just a 'meh' lipstick in my opinion. I'm not in love with it but I don't hate it! It's a nice shade to own for like work purposes etc, but don't think I will be left upset when this runs out.
What do you guys think?

Makeup Revolution: Mono Eyeshadows

Makeup Revolution: Mono Eyeshadows @ http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk

Makeup Revolution: Mono Eyeshadows @ http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk
In my christmas advent calendar last year (2014), my mother included 6 single eyeshadows from makeup revolution in it. So today I thought I would share with you guys these...

The first one I got is called good life is a shimmer taupe. I think it's really pretty and probably my favourite out of them all. The second is frozen which is the silver shimmer shade. The third is I remember which is a matte taupe shade which is perfect for everyday wear. The fourth is naive and this a pale peachy pink  again suitable for everyday wear. The fifth is promised land this is a lovely shimmer copper probably my second favourite. The last one number six is make it happen this is a dark taupe with silver shimmer.

I found all of these have good pigmentation apart from naive, which may need a little bit extra on the lid to give you, your desired colour.  They last pretty much all day but to be on the safe side if you want the look to last i'd say use an eyeshadow primer. The packaging of these is just a simple plastic which very light weight. So is handy if you want to throw a few into your makeup bag rather than a palette if you are off away. Last thing to say really is they are £1 each... bargain!

Overall, I am really happy with these. They are lovely to use and blend and would definitely recommend anyone to try them out. Let me know what you think of the shades. Also let me know if you would like to see a future eyeshadow look using a few of these. Would love to try doing an eye tutorial.. just want to know some thoughts..

MUA HAUL

MUA/Make up Academy has been a brand that I keep browsing at lately. I've previously talked about a few of their lipsticks and my love for the shade tulip (here). So I thought it was about time I picked up a few more items from the brand.

I first picked up 3 of their new sweet sheer lip balms as I don't really own any tinted lip balms and thought these would be great to start to my future lip tint lip balm collection. I picked up pink lilly, peach dream and french violet. These were all £2 each and you can get these from either Superdrug or MUA.

I next bought their new (well i think they are new) luxe whipped velvet lips in the shades rococo (nude pink), chichi (coral/orange) and hedonic (baby pink). These are £3 pound each and again can be bought in either Superdrug or MUA.

Last but not least I picked up one of their new whipped velvet blushers in the shade spry which costs £3 and currently stocked in both Superdrug and MUA online.

First impressions of these I'm really happy I bought them all. I bought them off Superdrug as you get free delivery over £10 and they came within 3 days. I really want to do some reviews on these, let me know if you like the sound of that..

My Night Time Skin Care Routine

Hey guys so today I wanted to share with you my night skin care routine. I have changed this routine around a lot lately because I was just getting so many break outs and nothing seemed to help until I started to use these beauties....

These have literally transformed my face in a week! my spots have gone, my face is much more radiant and the best thing is they are all so affordable ranging from £1.00-£3.99.

Argon Oil night repair serum- So I have talked about this before..it is a great product! I love the way it makes your face feel when you have put it on. In short it is worth a try. This was only £1.99 from B&M.

No.7 normal skin night cream- I don't know how much this product is because I got it in a set for Christmas. however I am sure it will be available to buy separately.I use this as a moisturiser.

Tea Tree witch hazel night treatment gel- oh my god! these three words literally sum up the whole product. I am going to say it is the best spot treatment  I have ever used.  when I had a pretty huge spot, I put this on before I went to sleep, when I woke up, the spot have practically disaperd. It is amazing! and it was only like £3.99 or something like that from boots. I recommend anyone to purchase this if you have a few spots.

T-Zone spot zapping gel- I got this for just £1.00 from B&M! and it is amazing!. I use this on a targeted spot after I have used the above and it starts working on the spot straight away, you really do notice a difference the next morning!.

These are my favourite spot treatment skin care at the moment. Let me know what you think or if you have any other great spot treatments.

MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick

MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick Review/Swatches
MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick Review/Swatch/Swatches

So hey guys.. I'm back with MAC Pink Plaid for you today (best colour reflection is the bottom two pictures). Anyway to Pink Plaid.. I went through such a phase of wearing this then I got new ones so kind of forgot how much I loved this shade. Now I remember i'm loving it again. It's great for everyday wear. It is a matte finish which means that it lasts ages on the lips. The shade is described by MAC as a dirty blue pink.. I don't personally know how I would describe it maybe dusky pink.. I don't know, you guys decide.

Let me know what you think to this shade? Or whether you have it? Also how do you describe this shade from my swatches...

Current Everyday Makeup

Today I thought I would share with you guys what I currently like to use as for my everyday makeup wear. I having pretty much been wearing all these products religiously during that february for days when I'm at university or just going out with friends.

I start off with my concealer lately I have been using mac pro long wear concealer (£17) in NW20 which looks so much darker than the foundation in this picture. I put this just under my eyes and cover any spots that I may have. However sometimes I will use collection's long lasting concealer depending what's closest to me. Both provide me with a great coverage and hid blemishes really well, which is what I look for. I then apply my foundation which I have been loving this one l'oreal true match  foundation (£9.99) which I don't know my shade but provides me with enough coverage and lasts long enough to keep me happy. I do then use a powder either once after I have done the above or at the end and I use rimmel stay matte powder (£3.99) but I have left that in my car so that's why it's not in the picture. I find this powder sets my makeup all day.. the occasional touch up is needed depending on what i'm doing.

I then move onto my eyes and I haven't really been wearing any eyeshadow recently but if I do just want something as a base I tend to use my mac paint pot in camel coat and you can find out more here. For my mascara I have been loving lately Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme (£23) it really lengthens my eyelashes and gives them volume.. I've done a review on this already here. For my eyebrows I go to my trusted ELF eyebrow kit (£3.95) I have it in the light shade. I have used this kit for so long although in the picture it is my replacement kit for when I run out of my first one. I really like this for filling in my eyebrows.

Last but not least I then use my Body Shop Bronzer (£13) in 02. I have been using this constantly over the last couple of weeks just to add a bronze touch to my face. Lately I haven't really been loving blushers.. I go through phases and have just found myself reaching out for this instead. This is a nice subtle bronze shade and I just use below my cheek bones (kind of like a subtle contour look).

Oh and to completely finish it off I tend to reach for a MAC lipstick (£15.50) and have currently found myself addicted to using Japanese Maple as I'm going for a minimal makeup look by using these products.

That's everything i've been currently reaching for on an everyday basis. Let me know if you enjoyed reading this post and would like to see more of these in the future (maybe with my steps included in pictures and full look) or if you want to see any product reviews on any of these products. Oh and I would love to hear what you guys use as I like to change things up...

Rimmel Perfect Match Foundation

Hey guys, today I wanted to share with you my favourite foundation at the minute!.... so as you know I am a student so money is quite low at the moment. I wanted to try a cheaper brand of foundation for everyday use as I didn't want waste my more expensive brands. I have heard quite a lot of good reviews on this so I thought I would give it a go and I must say I am not disappointed.
It is such a great foundation. I literally cannot tell the difference between the other expensive brands. I definitely recommend anyone with a lower budget to purchase this, it looks really good on, its good coverage and lasts all day. I really like the smell it has as well (a bit weird I know), and It even comes with a pump!

I don't really have a bad word to say about this product at the minute. I would love to know what you guys think to this? or if you have any other cheaper products which are a great buy, let me know...

See you soon, Em x

MAC Flamingo Lipstick

Back again with yet another MAC lipstick swatch... (these will end soon I promise).
I really struggled getting a main picture for this shade.. the lighting wasn't helping me out at all (so I will definitely update this when I can.. Now that I've rambled on about the picture.. i'll get onto the lipstick.

MAC Flamingo is definitely a shade that I can't wait to wear more in summer, and definitely one shade I don't hear about much. It is a bright pink coral shade. It is a lustre finish which means it gives a glossy finish and can be quite sheer. I think this might be my only lustre but I do like the finish.
what do you think to this?

see you soon, han
ps plan to update picture in the next couple of days.. until then the best  true colour of it is either, in bottom picture on the left or on the mac lipstick collection post, which it is the shade on the left next to the odd one out)

NYX Slim Lip Pencils

I have been meaning to do this post for so long and finally I have got round to doing it! So a few months ago (last year), I was going through a lip pencil phase and this is where I stumbled on these! I had been browsing on the NYX website but all the shades that I wanted were out of stock. So then I checked out Amazon and found these and was like must buy now! I bought these 6 lip pencils for £9.45 so was such a bargain, however sadly now they are at £14.99 but do have free delivery (here) -currently out of stock though but there is another set for the same price of £14.99. They came really quick and I was super excited to use them.

from left to right....
824/Orange - Is a bright red/orange lip pencil. I haven't really used this one because I don't really wear red/oranges. If I was to pair it up with some of one of my lipsticks, I would go for either MAC Vegas Volt or Jemma Kidd High Shine Gloss Stick in Hibiscus.
835/Pinky- Is a dark but bright (strawberry) pink shade (if that makes sense) which I don't really have a lipstick to match it with. Perhaps MAC Girl about Town.
856/Sand Pink - This is your regular fuschia pink shade. If I were to pair it with a lipstick I would probably go for MAC Chatterbox.
839/Dolly Pink - This is a bright pink shade that I like to pair with MAC Snob. I think this is definitely my second favourite.
840/ Rose - This is a rose/soft pink colour and my favourite out of all the shades. That I tend to smudge all over my lips.
846/Tangerine - Is a peachy orange shade. I think this definitely goes well with MAC Sweet & Sour (in my opinion).

All these lip pencils are super creamy and really nice to apply. I find that they last pretty much all day on the lips (I find). I am a huge fan and would definitely consider extending my collection. Let me know what you think of these? or if you would like pictures of them on the lips? or any other questions...

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots: Camel Coat, Bare Study & Painterly

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots: Camel Coat, Bare Study & Painterly on http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots: Camel Coat, Bare Study & Painterly on http://emandhanxo.blogspot.co.uk/

I got a few of these MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots awhile back now and have been obsessed with these ever since. I currently own three pots but know that I definitely want to expand my collection in the future basically when I have more pennies. So today I thought I would share with you guys the three shades that I do own which are camel coat, bare study and painterly.

The paint pots are great base products for eyeshadow or alternatively can be worn on their own when you are in one of them moods not to bother with eye makeup much. They are creamy in application and I apply using my a makeup brush normally but they still give a nice even finish if you apply with your finger too. Once they have been applied they give you eyelid a nice smooth base to add further eyeshadows and help them last longer on the lid.

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Japanese Maple

It feels like it's been ages since I last put up one of my MAC lipstick posts... So now I'm back with Japanese Maple for you all...

Japanese maple is a lovely pale frosted nude with a high shine finish. It's a cremesheen lipstick so I find that this only lasts a couple of hours then I need to touch it up more so if i'm drinking/eating etc... I really like this nude however it isn't for everyone as I can imagine it making people look pasty if you have real pale skin (though I could be wrong).

I'm definitely a fan of this one and think it's perfect for summer when you skin has more of a summer glow. Let me know what you think of this shade...

My favourite nail varnishes at the minute

I love nail varnish! doing my nails is one my favourite things to do, so today I wanted to share with you my favourite nail varnishes that I am currently using.

1, First is the Sally Hanson Diamand strength in the colour Ruby Ring. I bought this from B&M ages ago for like £1.99 such a bargain and such a pretty colour. I love how sparkly it is when its on. It also does last quite a while, I do wear all my nail varnishes with a bottom coat and a top coat to make them last longer.

2,This is, Ciate in the colour encorel. As you know I got a ciate advent calender this Christmas so most of my nail varnishes I use at the minute is ciate. I wear this colour a lot it is super cute and I love the orange tone it has to it.

3.Again this is Ciate in the colour pillow fight. This is my favourite one out of them all. I love this colour so much. It has like a wintery feel to the colour ( sounds strange I know ) I just cant explain my love for this.

4, And finally, Another sparkly colour! again, Ciate in the colour, serendipity. In my advent calendar you get one big bottle for the 24th and this was it. I love sparkly nail varnish so I was very happy with it. Its just a nice colour to have.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I would love to hear what your favourite nail varnishes are at the minute.

Forever 21: Cream Eye Shadow in Shiitake

Why can't these babies be stocked in the UK, please forever 21?
I was lucky enough that when my sister came back from America that she brought me one of these, lovely cream eyeshadows... i'm just sad that she didn't bring back more. I have loved using this one.

First thing: I love the name... shiitake! Second thing: I think the colour is gorgeous it's like a taupe but with a golden shimmer on the eye. It is gorgeous on. It's a lovely creamy texture, that is easy to work with and it pretty much lasts all day (I find). It looks great worn on it's own for everyday wear but also would be good for a nice smokey eye look! The packaging kind of reminds me of something Topshop would do and I really like it. It's simple.

I am definitely a fan of this product from Forever 21.. I just really wish they sold it over here. Seen so many items I want to buy from their makeup range. If you are from the US you can find this product here. Let me know what you think of this eye shadow...

see you soon, han x

ps let me know if you do know a way of getting these in the UK... if there is a way!

Estee Lauder: Sumptuous Extreme Mascara Review

I honestly think that other than concealer, mascara is the only piece of makeup I couldn't live without. You definitely know when I'm unwell or being lazy if I haven't got my mascara on. I love trying out different mascaras so I was super excited to try this one out from Estee Lauder from my christmas gift set.

The Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara says it is a lash multiplying volume mascara. I have it in 01 extreme black. I definitely agree with it being extreme black and I love it. The packaging isn't too exciting but definitely looks high end. I love the big wand.. it reaches all my lashes. I found that it definitely adds length to my lashes and makes them darker/stand out. However it can make some of your lashes clump together so I tend to wiggle the brush a lot when I apply it.

Overall.. this wouldn't be a mascara I would of tried out hadn't it of been for the gift set. But saying that I am really happy I have and would give it a solid 8/10 because I really like the effect it gives to my lashes. I don't think I would repurchase though because it costs £23 and I think there are great drugstore mascaras out there just as good. What do you guys think?

Wamo Wednesday Win an item for £50 or under from LoveClothing!

Here's another WAMO Wednesday for you all! We decided that our favourite challenge this week is for an item worth up to £50 from love clothing.com It starts on sunday the 8th of Feb so be sure to check it out if you like the look of any of the things we've chosen. Also why not check out WAMO's valentine challenges they are currently running such win some Yankee Candles or a Dolce and Gabbana gift set.

This is so cute! We would definitely buy this and pair it with black tights and the fluffy crop top below. It would look great for a date outfit or a nice everyday look.

Given the current weather conditions you can't go wrong with something fluffy (although being a cropped doesn't help). It would work with pretty much any outfit.. leggings, jeans, skirts and shorts day or night... as it can be easily dressed up or down!

We both love this blouse! It is so pretty and would look great with the leather leggings. We would definitely purchase this. The detail on the hem is gorgeous! However if you want this be quick as its on sale.

We think these boots are so practical with how the weather has been lately and they are definitely a lot cheaper than Timberlands. Definitely shoes I'd wear with jeans or leggings for a day at university!

Let us know what you think to the challenge or of our picks in the comments below!

see you soon, Em & Han x

ps let us know if you've started using the WAMO app and let us know your username and we will follow back!

Amazon Makeup Brushes

So I spotted these on amazon and they sat in my wish list for a good few weeks until I saw a post on emily mace (blog) which had a review and I finally gave in and bought these! There are two sets: four bigger brushes which I use for blushers, bronzer, foundation and powder and then four smaller brushes which I have used for eye makeup.

Pros:
  • The cost of these are so cheap! For the four bigger brushes (the left) they cost £3.59 (here) and for the four smaller brushes they cost £1.59 (here) both from amazon and both with free delivery!
  • They look and feel more than they are worth in my opinion. I haven't found them to fall apart and they are super soft and nice to use.

Cons:
  • They took two weeks to arrive but I didn't mind because of the cost.
  • They had a weird smell when they arrived but that has vanished now (a week later).

Overall, I'm really impressed with these brushes and have really enjoyed using them. They are a great alternative to the real technique brushes and good for those on a budget. Let me know what you think of these...
